New InterRail Austria Switzerland Pass
This summer the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship takes place in Austria and Switzerland. Because of this major sporting event, InterRail now offers a special Pass to visit these countries. The InterRail Austria Switzerland Pass can be used for travel in the months of May, June and July 2008.
Validity of InterRail Pass
With the InterRail Austria Switzerland Pass you can travel in Austria in all trains of the ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railway), including the route Ebenfurth – Sopron operated by RoeEE. In Switzerland you can use all trains of the SBB (Swiss Federal Railway) as well as various privately owned railway lines. For an overview, see the Pass conditions.
The InterRail Austria Switzerland Pass is a “flexible pass“. This means that you are free to choose the travelling days within the period of validity of the pass. The Pass is available in four different durations: 3 travel days in 1 month, 4 days in 1 month, 6 days in 1 month or 8 days in 1 month.
Host cities of Euro 2008
Euro 2008 takes place in eight different cities. In Austria matches are played in the cities Vienna, Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Innsbruck. The Swiss venues are situated in Zurich, Basel, Berne and Geneva. During the tournament there are numerous festivities in all these cities! More info about the host cities:
