Supplements

Special trainsIn most InterRail Countries special trains exist which require reservations or supplements. Examples are high-speed trains, scenic trains and night trains.

You can make reservations before your trip at the main train stations in your country or during your trip at most international train stations.

Below you can find a list of trains that require reservations with the InterRail Pass. Please note that this list is not exhaustive. Generally speaking, alll trains which are not mentioned will not require reservations. This means that you can board them at any given time.

Costs of reservations

For a lot of trains we have given an indication of the costs for a reservation, not for the scenic trains and also not for the night trains.
The supplements for night trains are hard to mention as they can be different per country, per train, per route, per departure date and also on the amount of privacy that you prefer. The supplements differ roughly from €20 to even €120. This big difference is mainly due to the differences possible in amount of privacy.
