Set sail for Ireland with Irish Ferries
Ferry leaving the harbourInterRail pass holders get a 30% discount on ferry travel between France and Ireland on the routes:
- Roscoff – Rosslare, (Ireland) (May to September)
- Cherbourg – Rosslare (Ireland) (February to December)
Booking information
In order to claim the discount, please make your booking on the Irish Ferry website and pay in full first. Then e-mail your booking reference number and your InterRail pass number to the company. The relevant discount will be applied to your booking and will be refunded to your credit card. Please send the email to Irish Ferries at least 5 days before your outward travel date. You may be asked to show your InterRail pass when you check in for the sailing.

Booking information
InterRail pass holders pay £58 for a single or £100 for a return ticket. It is not possible to book the InterRail-discounted fares online.

Travel with the Frech national railway's bus service
InterRail pass holders can travel for free with the French national railway’s bus service on the routes:
- Digne – St Auban
- Digne – Veynes
- Oloro– Canfranc (Spain)
- Lyon – Turin (Italy)

The best place to enquire about bus services is at a local tourist office or railway station. In large towns and cities, buses run to and from bus stations (gare d’autobus/routière) usually located next to railway stations. In rural areas, bus services are often operated by the SNCF and run between local towns and the railway station. An SNCF bus, on which rail tickets and passes are valid, is shown as an autocar in rail timetables.
