
The railroad network in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg covers about 250 kilometres, operated by CFL, the Luxembourg National Railways.
Luxembourg railway station is the central hub of Luxembourg's domestic railway network, serving as a terminus for all but one of Luxembourg's railway lines.
It also functions as the country's international railway station, with services into each of the surrounding countries: Belgium, France, and Germany. Two daily InterCity trains connect Luxemboug in 3,5 hours with Basel in Switzerland. The LGV Est connects the station to the French TGV network.
Luxembourg-City has four train stations: Luxembourg (the main station, 2 kilometres south of the city centre), Cents-Hamm (east), Dommeldange (north-east) and Hollerich (south-west).

The Luxembourg Railways run to the "Horaire Cadencé" schedule. This means that there is at least 1 train every hour to every station at the same time of every hour between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Bikes are allowed on most trains upon purchase of a special bike ticket.
