Pass Conditions
Global Pass Youth
- You can buy a Youth Pass if you are aged 12 up to and including 25 years on the first day of travel with your Pass.
- The InterRail Global Pass Youth is only available in 2nd class.
Global Pass Adult & Child
- The InterRail Global Pass Adult is available in 1st and 2nd class.
- Youth under 26 who prefer 1st class travel can buy an Adult Pass.
- The child fare applies to children aged 4 up to and including 11 years of age on the first day of validity of the pass.
- Children are entitled to a reduction of 50% on the price for adults in 1st or 2nd class.
- Children under the age of 4 on their first day of travel, travel for free.
Global Pass Senior
- You can buy a Senior Pass if you are aged 60 years and older on the first day of travel with your Pass.
- The InterRail Global Pass Senior is available for 1st or 2nd class rail travel.
General Global Pass travel rules
- InterRail Passes can only be used by European residents.
- The Global Pass is not valid in your own country of residence. You may get a discount on train tickets up to the border.
- An InterRail Global Pass is valid on the national railways and some private railways of all 30 countries listed above.
- When using a flexi Pass you need to fill in each journey date in the Travel Calendar before boarding the train! See the conditions of use.
- Some special trains (like high-speed or international trains) require a seat reservation.
Flexi or Continuous travel days?
The InterRail Global Pass is available in two different types. Continuous: travel on any day in a 15 day, 22 day or 1 month period. Flexi: travel 5 days within 10 days or 10 days within a 22 day period. For more info about these validities, see the FAQ.
