There is an InterRail Pass for every wish and budget. There are two types of InterRail Passes: the Global Pass and the One Country Pass.

InterRail Global Pass: valid in 30 countries

Most popular is the classic InterRail Global Pass. It is valid in the following 30 European countries::
Austria (including Liechtenstein), Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France (including Monaco), Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.

InterRail One Country Pass: valid in 1 country

The InterRail One Country Pass is valid in one European country of your choice. This Pass was formerly known as National Pass or EuroDomino ticket. You can choose from 27 One Country Passes.

Popular choices are the Italy Pass, the Spain Pass and the France Pass. The Benelux Pass is valid in Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg. There is no One Country Pass for Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro.

Travel in more than 1 country?
To travel in 2 countries, you can combine two One Country Passes. If you want to visit 3 countries or more, ordering the InterRail Global Pass is your cheapest option.

Who can travel with InterRail?

Only for European residents
European residents of all ages can travel with InterRail Passes. If you are not a European resident, you can travel with Eurail Passes instead. Do I need an InterRail or Eurail Pass?

Not in your own country
You may not use an InterRail Pass for travel in your own country of residence. You may get a discount on train tickets from and to the border. Overview of reduced train fares

Age Discounts

Youth discounts
Are you younger than 26 on the day that you start InterRailing? Then you can buy the discounted Youth Pass, valid in second class only. More about InterRail youth discounts

Child discounts
InterRail is very suitable for family travel as well. Children aged 4 up to and including 11 years of age get 50% reduction. Children under 4 even travel for free. More about InterRail child discounts

Senior discounts
For travellers of 60 years and older, we offer discounted Senior Passes. Senior discounts are only available for the InterRail Global Pass. More about InterRail senior discounts

Validity

1st or 2nd class
First class train compartments are more spacious and less crowded. Seats are more comfortable and may have special services, like power sockets or free drinks. Difference between 1st and 2nd class

Travel day: continuous or flexi
Do you want to travel nearly every day? Then choose an InterRail Pass with a continuous validity, to travel on consecutive days. Example: InterRail Global Pass - 22 days continuous.

Stay at each destination for a few days? Then buy an InterRail Pass with flexible validity. Example: InterRail Global Pass - 10 days within 22 days. Flexi days do not need to be consecutive.

On each travel day you can take as many trains as you want. What is a travel day?

To decide how many travel days you need, we advise you to make a rough itinerary of the places you want to visit. You can use timetables to calculate the average travel times.

Which trains can you use?
Your InterRail Pass is valid on trains from the national railways and some private railways of the countries where your Pass is valid. You can travel within and between these countries as much as you like. Some special trains (like high-speed or international trains) require seat reservations.
