Regular train types

Domestic InterCity (IC) or international EuroCity (EC) trains cover large distances between major towns at regular speed. Reservation for these trains is usually possible, but often not compulsory.

Regional and Express trains serve a specific region, with frequent stops at smaller stations. Reservation for these trains is usually not possible.
